Curve (CRV)

Curve is the native token of the Curve protocol which is issued as an ERC-20 standard token. Curve operates as a decentralized exchange for stablecoins by utilizing multiple cryptocurrencies to operate an automated market making (AMM) service to manage liquidity. The Curve DAO utilizes multiple smart contracts connected by Aragon that primarily manages its governance time-weighted voting and value accrual feature.

Founded in January 2020, Michael Egorov is the founder and CEO of Curve. Michael is a Russian scientist who has various experience with cryptocurrency-related enterprises including NuCypher and LoanCoin.

The total CRV supply is 3.03 billion tokens out of which 62% of the tokens are distributed to liquidity providers. The remainder is divided as follows: 30% to shareholders, 3% to employees and 5% to a community reserve. Curve currently has over 33 different liquidity pools that provide varying and changing returns depending on the weights of assets in the pool and their performance.
